Hudson County Chiefs of Police Association Awards Scholarships

On April 24, 2024 the Chiefs of Police Association of Hudson County awarded two scholarships to graduating seniors in the amount of $1,000.00 each.   The scholarsphips were awarded to high school seniors who are affiliated with the Association’s membership.  The scholarships are specifically awarded to recognize the recipent’s academic excellence, after they were approved by the Association’s Scholarship Committee.  The scholarships were presented to the recipients at the 200 Club of Hudson County 38th Annual Valor Awards Luncheon at the Liberty House in Jersey City.

The first scholarship was awarded to Nolan Geisler, the son of Bayonne Police Chief Robert Geisler.  Nolan will be graduating from Bayonne High School where he is an honor roll student, a four year varsity baseball player and is currently the Captain of the team.  Nolan committed to attending the University of Massachusetts-Lowell where he will study Criminal Justice and play Division 1 Baseball.

The second scholarship was awarded to Nicholas Scerbo, the son of Bayonne Deputy Police Chief Joseph Scerbo.  Nicholas will be graduating from Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, NJ.  Nicholas is on the Track Team and participates in the field events of javelin and discus.  Nicholas is also on the Bowling Team.  He will be attending Indiana University, the Kelley School of Business, where he will pursue a degree in finance.

“I am honored to award these scholarships and congratulate the recipents on their academic achievements,” President, Chief Dennis Miller said. “The Chiefs of Police Association of Hudson County is an integral part of the law enforcement community within Hudson County who will recognize the commitment of Hudson County’s law enforcement professionals through awards such as these.”
